RRTA’s Access to Jobs Program is a unique program that uses both RRTA’s bus services and shared-ride services to help workers who need late-night transportation. The goal of the program is to have eligible customers use RRTA’s bus route service for one portion of their commute. The other portion of their commute is provided through RRTA’s shared-ride service during times when the bus routes are not operating.
You may be eligible if:
Persons who are interested in receiving the service will need to complete an application to be approved for the program.

Access to Jobs ApplicationThe application process takes about 5 to 7 business days for acceptance. You will receive an acceptance letter through the mail informing you that you have been approved for the service.

For individuals who are hearing impaired, RRTA encourages customers to use the PA Relay Service. The service can be accessed by calling 711, free of charge.
Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Trips must be scheduled at least one day in advance. Trips may be scheduled up to 14 days in advance.
Your vehicle may arrive up to 15 minutes before or 15 minutes after your scheduled pick-up time. We ask that you be ready early and wait at the exact address used when scheduling your trip. The driver may only wait five minutes for you. Your promptness and consideration for other customers are greatly appreciated.

The Access to Jobs program encourages customers to use the RRTA fixed-route system for one part of their trip and the shared ride service for the other portion of the trip. The Access to Jobs program is limited to a 10-mile radius of Lancaster City and service is provided through one of RRTA’s shared ride carriers in the metropolitan region of Lancaster.
If you need to cancel a trip that is scheduled, you may do so by calling RRTA at least one hour before your scheduled pick-up.
If you need to cancel at a time when RRTA offices are closed, you may cancel your trip with Easton Coach directly by calling 396-1001. It is recommended that you call RRTA during regular office hours with the cancellation information for our records.
The Lancaster County Office of Assistance has partnered with Red Rose Transit Authority to help their clients with transportation needs when they are seeking employment or need transportation to continue employment. Red Rose Transit Authority provides passes free of charge to the organization for their caseworkers to provide for their clients if they are employed. The funding for the passes is provided through an Access to Jobs grant.
