Seniors Services

Seniors ride free with RRTA!

If you are age 65 or older, you can ride free through the Senior Free Ride Program, which is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Lottery. Eligible seniors may ride the bus for FREE anytime on any route.

A PA Department of Transportation Senior Citizen ID Card or Medicare card is valid identification.

RRTA recommends that all seniors interested in riding RRTA for free obtain the State Transit ID card. This will ensure that other important identification cards are not lost while riding the bus. To obtain a State Transit ID card a brief application must be filled out. An application can be mailed to you or you can fill one out at our RRTA Information Center at Queen Street Station or the RRTA Operations Center. A proof of age is required to recevie the ID card. The following are the acceptable proof of age documents:

  • PACE card
  • Statement of Age Verification (issued by Soc. Sec. Office)
